Engagement Training
Build real communication skills to de-escalate, connect, and create safer environments.
About this training
At Be Shepherd, we offer engagement training to help your employees communicate effectively with people suffering from mental illness, depression, or drug and alcohol abuse. Our program teaches verbal communication techniques that promote a healthy and positive exchange. With our training, your employees will be equipped to engage with these individuals in a compassionate and empathetic manner, helping to create a supportive environment for all.
What your team will work on
- Verbal communication techniques that keep an exchange healthy and positive
- How to open a conversation with someone who is guarded, withdrawn, or upset
- Listening and responding with compassion and empathy without losing structure
- Adjusting your approach for mental illness, depression, and substance use
- Building a supportive environment across the whole site, shift after shift
How we deliver it
We come to your facility. Your team trains where they work, around their shifts, so your managers and supervisors do not have to find the time to teach. Afterward, we can mentor your staff live while they work, so the training shows up on the floor.
Pricing built around your facility
Every facility is different, so we do not use a fixed price list. We build a custom proposal for each client, based on:
- The number of staff you want trained, and their roles
- How many sites or buildings you run
- Which trainings and services you choose
- How much live, on-the-job mentorship you want
- Your shifts and schedule
